We are way better than last year.

November 15, 2007

Kings lost in OT to the Ducks, but we’ll take a point. By the way Pronger is still a piece of crap suspended or not. He isn’t worth my time to write about.

The Kings obviously need to play 60 minutes worth of hockey and not start scoring just in the third period. Don’t get me wrong, this team is definitely improving every game but when they learn to play 60 minutes of the type of hockey they have played in the last 2 third periods, then we will be a dangerous team. Just to show how far this years squad has come compared to last year…

In 2006, the whole season we were never able to put together a 3 game winning streak. This years squad has already won 4 in row. Anyone that watched last years squad saw how inconsistent the Kings were. Also the Kings were 6-10-4 at this exact point compared to this years squad that is 8-8-1 right now. Pretty impressive considering the bad start that left the Kings 1-5 earlier in the season. One thing that can be attributed to the Kings success is the stability in the locker room and on the ice. We don’t have Avery anymore and the Goaltending situation is as stable as we have seen it in some time. That’s not saying that the position is perfect right now, but that we aren’t playing musical chairs on the Goaltenders. Which is a credit to Dean Lombardi. Last year we had ECHL talent coming through every other day with Brust, Fukafuji (sp?) etc.

The Kings have a lot of crucial games left this month against divisional foes and need to do well if they want to compete for a playoff spot later on this season.
